Divorce is a seven-letter word that can be scary, liberating, and/or possibly devastating to women and families.
As a Second Saturday Leader, my mission is to provide a safe, non-threatening or judgmental place for women to learn about divorce. I believe women make great decisions if they know their options and understand what those options can do for them. The purpose of the workshops is to empower with information on the emotional, legal, and financial issues of divorce.
I was incredibly young when I went through a divorce, and I was naïve. No one in my family had ever divorced so I certainly had no one to guide me. Unfortunately, I believe this is still the case. Today, women are still finding themselves suddenly alone because of divorce and there are no rules or guiding steps for moving on.
